“Loveyaapa” Movie Review
In today’s world of phones and internet, there are many relationship options available. With options like one click, left swipe, a new window, is today’s generation able to take care of their relationships? Director Advait Chandan’s film seeks answers to many such questions. But Advait Chandan should have updated ‘Love Today’, released in 2022, a little more in today’s year 2025. The relationship complications of ‘Gen Z’ should have been depicted in more depth, because a lot has changed for Gen Z in the last three years.
However, the film entertains by presenting a combo of comedy and romance at many places. The track of Kiku Sharda and Tanvika Parlikar and friends is interesting. Advait gives a message to today’s generation through the characters of Grusha Kapoor and Ashutosh Rana who play parents in the film, learn to repair, not replace. But if the screenplay of the film was a little tighter, it would have been fun. In Tanishk Bagchi’s music, songs like the title song, Loveyaapa and Tu Rehna Mere Khol have been made well.
Talking about acting, Junaid Khan, who proved himself in the serious role of ‘Maharaj’ which came on OTT last year, looks great as Gaurav in this light-hearted love story. He has also shown strength in today’s modern love story. Khushi looks sweet in the role of Bani, but she will have to work harder in terms of acting.
Ashutosh Rana leaves his mark as a responsible parent in the role of the father. Kiku Sharda has done a memorable job in the role of the future brother-in-law Anupam, contrary to his comic image. Grisha Kapoor has suited the role of the mother. Tanvika Parlikar has played the character of sister Kiran beautifully. The supporting cast is also fine.
