BYD sealion: BYD introduced its Sealion 6 at the India Mobility Global Expo 2025 and now it is being seen during testing on Indian roads. After the testing pictures surfaced, it is being speculated that the company may soon launch this vehicle in India.
Sealion 6 is a special plug-in hybrid variant equipped with modern technology. The DM-i AWD badge visible on its tailgate clearly shows that it is based on BYD’s plug-in hybrid technology. DM-i technology helps in improving the performance and mileage of the vehicle.
This car will be introduced with strong mileage and hybrid technology. The biggest feature of this car is its plug-in hybrid powertrain which comes with a combination of 18.3 kWh battery and IC engine. This great setup generates a total power of 320 bhp and torque of 550 Nm, which makes the performance of the car tremendous.
If we talk about its battery performance, BYD’s 18.3 kWh Blade battery gives a range of 92Km in pure EV mode. At the same time, it also has a 60-liter fuel tank, which can cover a total distance of up to 1000Km.

BYD claims that this car will consume fuel at the rate of 1.4 liters / 100Km, which is equivalent to a mileage of about 71.42 Km/l. If these figures prove to be correct in real conditions, then this car can become a tremendous hybrid option in the Indian market with excellent mileage and great technology.
The BYD Sealion 6 plug-in hybrid with AWD capability can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.9 seconds. The hybrid powertrain with 1.5L Xiaoyun can run up to 81 km on pure electric until the battery reaches 25% SOC. After that, it switches to the IC engine. As far as the design is concerned, the BYD Sealion 6 looks like a smaller and less sharp version of the BYD Sealion 7. It is to be launched in India soon. It follows the design language of other BYD SUVs in the Ocean lineup. Overall, the Sealion 6 looks quite attractive and premium SUV.
If we talk about the features, then the interior can be given a 15.6-inch rotatable touchscreen, 12.3-inch digital driver display, 3-spoke steering wheel and ambient lighting for a premium touch.
