Bomb blast in northern Syria, 15 killed: 15 injured; 14 women and 1 man among the dead
15 people were killed and dozens injured in a car bomb blast in Aleppo province of northern Syria on Monday. According to news agency AP, a bomb exploded in a car carrying farm workers on the outskirts of Manbij city of Aleppo, killing 14 women and 1 man. Apart from this, 15 women are injured.
At the same time, the UK-based The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that 18 women and one man were killed in this explosion. Violence continues in Manbij, Aleppo even after the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad in December last year.
An interim government has recently been established in Syria. However, this government is constantly facing the challenges of Islamic State (ISIS) and other terrorist organizations. On Saturday also, 4 civilians were killed and 9 were injured in a car bomb blast in Manbij.

Recently, Abu Mohammad al-Julani, leader of the rebel group Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), also known as Ahmed al-Shara, has taken oath as the President of Syria. After this, he reached Saudi Arabia on his first foreign visit on Sunday. According to media reports, Julani wants to change Syria’s image of a pro-Iran country with this step.
At the time of the Arab revolution in 2011, Saudi was one of the Arab countries that tried to remove Bashar al-Assad from power in Syria. For this, money was also given to the rebel groups. However, Assad controlled the rebellion with the help of Russia and Iran.
How did Julani carried the coup ?
According to media reports, when the Syrian civil war ended in 2016, Julani started strengthening his fighters. He prepared his army with the help of people from China’s Uighur Muslims to Arab and Central Asia.
He waited for the right time, which came due to the Israel-Hamas war and the Russia-Ukraine war. In 2022, the war started in Ukraine and Russia got busy there. Due to this, Russia withdrew its troops from Syria.
Then in 2023, the war started between Israel and Hamas. The result was that Iran and Hezbollah, who were helping Assad in Syria, could no longer pay attention to him. Hezbollah became weak after the death of Hassan Nasrallah. Taking advantage of this, Julani attacked the Syrian army and overthrew the President in 11 days.
